We Can Control A Sharp Tongue December 29, 2017 |
We Can Master Our AngerBook of Mormon Marriage And Family Study1 Nephi 21: 2 “And he hath made my mouth like a sharp sword;” A sharp tongue can erode any marriage if it is not stopped. Fortunately, this is something that we can become perfect with some discipline. Jesus Christ teaches in the Sermon On The Mount that there are no causes for becoming angry. The Lord can change us into new creatures; and He can change our natures to the point we hardly feel anger. We are agents who can act which mean we can determine how we feel. If we allow someone else to determine how we feel, then we are agents who are acted upon. Sometimes parents have to reprove but this should always be done with love and to show an increase in love. The prophets teach that parents need to warn their children of things that can hurt them such as sin.
