Strong Families Endure To The End

Book of Mormon Marriage And Family Study

1 Nephi 8: 24-“Pressing forward”

Satan is determined to destroy the family. There is more confusion about gender and family than ever, and Satan is gloating over this and it will only get worse.

Traditional families with a marriage of a man and woman will always be the majority; however, there are too many dysfunctional families and too much domestic violence. Any violence whatsoever in the home is too much.

Strong families must press forward and ignore the philosophies of men.

You should not put your children ahead of your marriage because if you fail they will suffer much more. Your relationship is the glue that holds everything together built upon the foundation of Christ.

Parents need to be the rock of the family so they can call down the powers of heaven to bless and help struggling children. Once a parent always a parent.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has the greatest tools for accessing God’s help. For example, only the church has covenants and ordinances that bind you to Jesus Christ.

Elder Bednar said this about ordinances;

“Holy ordinances are central in the Savior’s gospel and in the process of coming unto Him and seeking spiritual rebirth. Ordinances are sacred acts that have spiritual purpose, eternal significance, and are related to God’s laws and statutes….The ordinances of salvation and exaltation administered in the Lord’s restored Church are far more than rituals or symbolic performances. Rather, they constitute authorized channels through which the blessings and powers of heaven can flow into our individual lives. Ordinances received and honored with integrity are essential to obtaining the power of godliness and all of the blessings made available through the Savior’s atonement.” April 2016 General Conference

Bringing children into this world is a heavy responsibility.

Divorce is serious!

The world views marriage as expendable and temporary. However, an eternal marriage is much different. This marriage has the potential to last forever if covenants are kept. Therefore, problems are worth working out.
