Satan Is The Father Of All Lies

Satan is the Father of all lies, which are incredibly many. Additionally, he is a master of employing them. He has small ones and big ones; whatever it takes to deceive us he will use. I think he has his go to lies that work time after time on most people. One of his golden lies that traps a lot of people is believing that you should rely on your own strength to succeed.

The world is too quick to adopt his lies. For instance, the great and spacious building described in Lehi’s dream is the pride of the world. A central feature of pride is relying on your own strength. That is why the Anti-Christ’s teach you don’t need Christ. They say it is weak to rely on anyone but yourself, so they worship self and focus too much on self-confidence and self-esteem.

True, we need enough confidence in ourselves and a feeling of strength that we can do it with the Lord’s help otherwise we wouldn’t try it.

The great and spacious building will fall and it will be a great destruction. You might get away with relying on your own strength for a period of time, but eventually circumstances will force you to your knees in prayer.

Relying On Yourself Verses God Is The Difference Between Building Your Foundation On Sand Verses A Rock

The Apostles have said that world conditions will become increasingly more difficult as the Second Coming approaches. The world will not glide smoothly toward the Second Coming. Also, the scriptures say that men’s (and women’s) hearts shall fail them.

Man is nothing by himself, but with the Lord he can do all things. Some members of the church fully believe that God is omniscient and has all power and can do all things, but they are not confident that God will perform His great works through them.

Maybe they don’t think they are good enough to qualify for God’s help to do something remarkable.
