Overcoming The Natural Man Through Jesus Christ April 05, 2015 |
The Natural Man Must Be Overcome And The Only Way To Do That Is Through Jesus Christ And His AtonementThe Things Of My SoulAtonement Series
Mosiah 3:19; “For the natural man is an enemy to God, and has been from the fall of Adam, and will be, forever and ever, unless he yields to the enticings of the Holy Spirit, and putteth off the natural man and becometh a saint through the atonement of Christ the Lord,….” (Book of Mormon) Jesus Christ and the atonement conquer the natural man. Some things only the atonement can fix, and overcoming the natural man is one of those things. The Natural Man Is An Enemy To GodWhy is the natural man an enemy to God? It is a lie that we are born evil or wicked. Children are born to earth innocent. They bring with them the character and personalities that they developed in the pre-earth life, but babies are not sinful. Babies are born to a fallen world where there is a lot of evil and wickedness. In addition, dysfunctional families abound, which produces a difficult environment for the baby to grow up happy and strong both spiritually and psychologically. Fortunately, this world is full of righteous families who have learned how to bring down a piece of heaven into their home. What a blessing for the children in that home! Because their future will be a gloriously bright one. Additionally, pride is a reason why the natural man is an enemy to God. The natural man is more interested in what the flesh wants instead of what the spirit is directing you to do. Spirituality is when your spirit controls your body, and then when you let the Holy Ghost control your spirit.

There is nothing more important in this life or in this world than the gospel of Jesus Christ, as revealed by the Apostles and Prophets because it finds evil and wicked men and transforms them into good men, and good men into righteous men. Ultimately, the gospel of Jesus Christ is the world’s only hope for salvation, peace and safety.
