Turning Our Children To Christ January 23, 2018 |
Ensuring Our Children Never PerishBook of Mormon Marriage And Family Study1 Nephi 15: 25 “and whoso would hearken unto the word of God, and would hold fast unto it, they would never perish; neither could the temptations and the fiery darts of the adversary overpower them unto blindness, to lead them to destruction.” Nothing in this world is more important than seeking after Jesus Christ! This is more important than money or career, looks, even marriage and family as critical as that is for exaltation. For example, many people who are married mistreat each other and their children and are living in dysfunctional families. Their home life is more chaotic and toxic than if they were single. The word of God is a crucial way we seek after God! His word changes our behavior if we take His word seriously. This is how we stop passing off to our children our own harmful and destructive ways. Every righteous parent desires for his or her children to never perish. If our children are grounded in the word of God they will not fall into the wrong crowd because they will not need the world’s comfort. This is because they feel close to God through His love and every time they are hurting inside they know how to be healed. Our children will self-medicate by turning to Jesus Christ.
If our children hold fast to the word of God Satan cannot blind them to destruction. They will escape becoming bound with chains because the world with Hollywood was not their main source of influence. Satan’s lies and corruption will not make them miserable.
