God is our Heavenly Father and we are His literal children. He has a physical body like you have. His is perfect and will never die whereas some day your body was designed wear out and die eventually. God did not plan for us to stay here forever. This earth is not our home.

He is perfect in every way. His love is perfect. His judgment and knowledge is perfect. There is nothing that He doesn’t know and nothing that He can’t do. His love for you and all of mankind is beyond your comprehension. Because of His love for you He desires that you are happy. He wants you to be successful. He did not send us down to earth to fail.

Because He is a physical person He wants to communicate with you and He does that through prayer. He wants to know the desires of our hearts. He wants you to tell Him your fears, worries and concerns. He wants to know what is on your mind and what is in your heart. He doesn’t want you to tell Him memorized prayers.

He wants to be close to you and prayer is a major way to achieve this. We also need to be careful about doing things that makes us feel distant from Him. He has given us commandments and laws so we can be close to Him. When we break His commandments we feel distant and alone from Him. We don’t feel close when we are disobedient.
