The War In Heaven Continues On Earth December 23, 2017 |
We Are At WarBook of Mormon Marriage And Family Study1 Nephi 15: 18- “In thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed.” God has entrusted parents with a sacred responsibility to raise children to be a force for good, and to raise an Army for the Lord. Blessing all the kindreds of the earth is a big charge. The war in heaven Satan started continues on earth, and everyone living on earth is in the war. Most people in the world either don’t realize they are in a war or don’t care and therefore will not fight. The surest way to lose a war is to be in it but not fight. And others are fighting on the wrong side. Additionally, anyone who has been baptized into the church made covenants that they will fight with the Lord. Sometimes soldiers engaged in war become psychologically disabled. This is tragic because they are physically capable of fighting but emotionally and mentally they cannot. If our children are going to bless all the kindreds of the earth, they need to bring light into the darkness and they must know who their commander is. Jesus Christ! He is God the Son and He has no fear or any darkness or enemy force of earth or hell. Therefore, there is no place too dark and no enemy too scary to fight. Also, preparing our children for battle happens long before the fighting starts. It is too late to train when we the bullets start flying and bombs are exploding. Wars are won by training hard for war in times of peace. For example, Elder Richard G. Scott said: “Faith in the power of obedience to the commandments of God will forge strength of character available to you in times of urgent need. Such character is not developed in moments of great challenge or temptation. That is when it is intended to be used.” I am obviously not calling for a literal war only a figurative one; because blessing all the kindreds of the earth requires overcoming the world which is a major personal battle.
