You Don't Overcome Addictions By Changing Behavior
Brother Anderson often draws a diagram depicting how our beliefs determine how we feel and what we understand. What we understand and feel is how we behave.
He applied this diagram to addictions and said that what addicted people want to change is how they feel and behave. Addicted people feel miserable and are as if they are in total blackness.
Just changing behavior doesn't work, because the behavior returns if the beliefs or thoughts don't change. The way to break free is to change your beliefs.
