“Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.”

Who are the salt of the earth? I think the salt of the earth are those who have the character of Christ. These are people who care about and love people. You can find people with this love everywhere, and in every religion and race.

However, membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints gives you the gift of the Holy Ghost and opportunities to receive all the gifts of the spirit. Gifts of the spirit are special endowments of spiritual gifts that only come to people with the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Where much is given much is expected. God expects more from those who keep covenants. This is because covenants yoke us to Christ. Therefore, His infinite power is also our power, and not because we are powerful but because He is.

This is why I think worldliness breaks the covenant. Because we could do impossible things for the Lord (through His grace) however, it doesn’t happen because of worldliness.
