We want children with strong character and deep faith. We want children who will stand with Christ under all circumstances and who are immune to peer pressure. They are daily out in a jungle of bad ideas.

We want children who know where they came from, why they are here and where they are going.

How is this done?

Help them know Jesus Christ and truly love Him. Then Christ will be their foundation and not the world. If Christ is their foundation then the words of God both ancient and modern will be their primary source of influence; and therefore, the corruption and the false philosophies of the world will have no influence over them. This is why family scripture study is more important than any other family activity.

I would much rather have my children’s friends over at my house than have my children spend significant time at their friend’s houses. This is because I can control what goes on in my own house but not others. I can make sure that my house is a house of glory, a house of power and a house of God. Their friend’s homes may or may not be a house of God. I think it is also wise to not allow sleepovers.
