“all things have been done in the wisdom of him who knoweth all things.”

This life is a test and God intentionally created it so we are required to exercise faith. Life’s challenges are such that we can’t avoid faith or relying on Him. The Book of Mormon in Ether 12:27 teaches this truth.

“And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them.” Compared to God, we are nothing. His power and knowledge is so great that we can’t comprehend it. He holds all flesh in His hands. There is no man, no Army or Devil who can stand against God. In order to know ourselves we need to know God and our fallen state.

Sometimes in this mortal journey, we have to endure heartbreaking experiences that we can’t explain. Examples are when a mother loses a child at birth, or living with a chronic illness that seems incurable. Or, when a spouse commits adultery.

Asking why is never useful. God knows all things and nothing is a surprise to Him.
