In Our Marriages And Families, We Should Live So Jesus Christ Is The Leader

We want Jesus Christ as the head of our families. How can we do that? We do this by seeking after Him as individuals, couples and families. Nothing in this world is more important than seeking after Him.

Additionally, it involves these things:

• Live after the manner of the spirit.
• Seek out revelation.
• Keep the commandments.
• Keep covenants.
• Become a disciple.

Becoming A Disciple

I can’t think of a better way to make Christ the leader than to become like Him. Success, glory, and power are being like Him. Think of the love and glory that could be in the marriage and home? One way President Nelson taught to bring the power of Jesus Christ into our life and family is to learn about Him. President Nelson challenged us to study every verse in the Topical Guide about Christ.

Ultimately, Celestial glory and power in the marriage and home only comes as a gift from God. I think this from Elder Holland is a great goal to strive for. Imagine if your family was like this!

“How grateful we are that in the midst of these kinds of challenges, there comes, from time to time, another kind of song that we find ourselves unable to sing, but for a different reason. No tongue can speak, neither can there be written by any man, neither can the hearts of men conceive so great and marvelous things as we both saw and heard Jesus speak.

These kinds of sanctified moments remain unuttered because expression, even if it were possible, might seem like desecration.

If we can lead like Christ and become like Him to the point the love in our families is so great that our wives and children can’t express it, that is power.
