Someone who cannot feel doesn’t really live!

I think another way to say this is blessed is the person who feels deeply. Blessed is the person who feels sorrow for the wickedness in the world because they will do something about it. The only thing necessary for evil to flourish is for good men to do nothing. If a lot more good people would get in the fight (bring light into the darkness) there would be much less evil in the world.

I think we need to pay attention to what desensitizes us and I think the two big ones are violence and pornography. This is why the church councils us not to watch R rated movies, and it is not because we will go out and beat people up because we watched a violent action packed movie. We are influenced by everything we watch and hear. Violence desensitizes us.

Pornography desensitizes us because it corrupts real love. Pornography is Satan’s counterfeit to love and is the exact opposite to real love. The Apostles have described pornography as a plague of our times.
